Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips: BBC is a bad dance partner

She recently published a children?s dance book. ?I love the book world,? she says. ?It?s such a nice change from TV; everyone?s so warm and the work?s very rewarding.?

Thrills of fast love make Katie Melua sing

Katie Melua, who was briefly hospitalised last year after suffering a breakdown, has a reason to smile again. The 26-year-old pop singer is courting James Toseland, a dashing motorcycle racer.

?I went to see her at a recent concert, and a friend who is also a piano player in her band acted as match-maker between us,? Toseland tells Mandrake at the private viewing of the Official British Grand Prix Exhibition at the Getty Images Gallery in Soho, London.

Melua, who has amassed an estimated fortune of 12 million through such hits as The Closest Thing to Crazy and Nine Million Bicycles, stepped out with The Kooks singer Luke Pritchard, before being linked to Lara Bloom, a lesbian photographer.

She is, however, thrilled by the superbike champion, 30, who is also an accomplished musician. ?I like speed and I?m a bit of an adrenaline junkie,? she says, before adding, ?I have not yet seen him race.?
