While the official film awards season has yet to kick-off, a glamorous warm-up is taking place in form of top glossy magazines dishing out their "Most Stylish", "Most Iconic" and "We Don't Know How She Does It" awards. It's no different in Spain - where Marie Claire invited a glittering guest list to the French Embassy in Madrid to toast their "Prix de la Moda" awards.
Irinia Shayk, she of bee-stung lips ( missing underwear ) and girlfriend of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo fame, stole the limelight in a sequinned Elie Saab gown with a generous plunging neckline as she picked up the award for Model of the Year. Fellow model Elisa Sednaoui, who stars in this year's Pirelli calendar, bagged the Fashion Icon of the Year award.
Our very own Tilda Swinton, currently receiving rave reviews in We Need to Talk About Kevin , scooped the Best Career gong and arrived with designer-of-the moment, Haider Ackermann. The actress recently admitted that the concept of a stylist left her flabbergasted: "You mean there's somebody in your hotel room who actually takes your clothes out of a suitcase and lays them out for you," she told Styleist . "Really? Or is that just a fantasy. There is nobody in my suitcase, but myself, I can tell you that." Having dressed herself in Ackermann's resplendent creations for the evening, he was crowned Designer of the Year.

But a fashion party wouldn't be a real fashion party without one person in particular - eccentric fashion fanatic Daphne Guinness. The 44-year-old haute couture collector was on hand to present Haider Ackermann with his award in a sheer-skirted gown that revealed her black knickers to the world...
