60 Elvis impersonators flee fire alarm

The King lookalikes were taking part in a fancy dress fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support at the Holiday Inn in Rochester.

The Elvis tribute night was due to feature a charity raffle, late night disco and live entertainment.

Around 250 people attended the event, which hosted musical acts from rock and roll singer Mark Keeley and Elvis impersonator Lee Jackson.

Kevin Coombes, hotel manager at the Holiday Inn, told the Mirror: "A smoke machine set off the fire alarm and at no point was anyone in any danger - but yes, Elvis did leave the building."
