Conrad Murray trial: Michael Jackson knew dangers of sleep drug

He said he "never" gave Jackson propofol and that no amount of money would have convinced him to give the powerful anesthetic to the singer, who he said had issues with sleep for years.

"I know that sleep was an issue particularly after performing," the defence's witness testified.

Holistic Nurse Practitioner, Cherilyn Lee, was also called as a witness. She had treated Jackson in the past with vitamin infusions for his sleep problems.

Ms Lee told the court that Jackson asked her to watch him sleep, which she did.

She said he slept for five hours but was upset when he awoke.

"He said, 'You see, I can't stay asleep'," she said.

Dr Murray's lawyers are expected to call about 15 witnesses. The case is expected to last until Oct 27.
