"Some form of ... and then she smoked something. I didn't really see. She's been having some issues lately with some other stuff. So I don't know what she's been taking or not."
When the operator asked the friend if this has happened before, she said, "I don't know. There's been some stuff recently that we're all just finding out."
By the end of the call, Moore seemed to have improved.
"She seems to have calmed down now. She's speaking," a male caller told the operator.
Moore's spokesman said earlier this week that she was seeking professional help to treat "exhaustion" and "overall health" issues.
Moore announced in November she had decided to end her marriage to Ashton Kutcher following news of alleged infidelity.
Moore, 49, and Kutcher, 33, were wed in September 2005.
Kutcher became a stepfather to Moore's three daughters ? Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Belle ? from her 13-year marriage to actor Bruce Willis. Moore and Willis divorced in 2000 but remained friendly. Moore and Kutcher were photographed socialising with Willis, and the couple attended Willis' wedding to model-actress Emma Heming in 2009.
Moore can be seen on screen in the recent films "Margin Call" and "Another Happy Day." Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen on TV's "Two and a Half Men" as is part of the ensemble film "New Year's Eve."

Arlene has revealed she may consider a return and has said: ?Maybe there is another life for me.?
The dancer has previously revealed she is constantly bombarded with questions from fans who want to see her back on the show.
She said: "You wouldn't believe how many times a day, every day that people ask me about 'Strictly'. I get it on twitter, in the street, in interviews - it never stops. The most common response is definitely them wanting me back as a judge."
Last night Arlene?s odds of a return were slashed by bookmakers Ladbrokes as the favourite to replace Alesha.
A spokeswoman said: ?Arlene?s return would be one of the biggest shocks in talent show history.?
Co-presenter Alan Cochrane rushed to congratulate the star but asked: "Are you paranoid of any jokes you've made about ageing fathers in the past?"
Skinner ? who topped the charts with England football team anthem Three Lions ? responded: "David Jason ? wasn't he 67? The way I'm seeing it is that I probably won't have to deal with those difficult teenage years.
"I've already made certain pledges. It means I'll be up for the show a lot earlier and things like that and what I'm saying to the listeners is ? get knitting."
Skinner did not say when the baby is due.

I'm cautious. Early in my career I made a decision to spend everything I earned up to the age of 25, but after that to save and invest more than I spent. I decided that was a grown-up way of dealing with money, because it meant I would have a brief period of spending on whatever I wanted, but then I would be sensible.
Yes, having money can make you happier because it gives you more choices and allows you to do the things you want to do. But I know a lot of people who have money and who are also miserable, so it doesn't create happiness for you. But if you have a good life and also have money behind you, you can treat your family and not worry how you will put food on the table or pay the mortgage.
I do it all. Some years ago a window cleaner was touting for business down our road and knocked at our door when I was out. Paul later told me the quote had seemed a bit expensive ? 500. I couldn't believe anyone would charge so much so I asked him to tell me more and it turns out the guy said "five" and Paul, assuming no one would clean windows for 5, had thought he meant 500. He hasn't a clue about money.
When I was 20 I bought a property in London and lost money on it. I had a choice between a one-bedroom flat in Regent's Park or a larger two-bedroom flat in Canary Wharf for roughly the same amount. I chose Canary Wharf, but it was the wrong decision. I bought it for roughly 150,000 in 1989 and sold it four years later for about 140,000. When you add in costs of sale, I lost more than just the difference, but more importantly I learnt property is all about location. In Regent's Park today flats are worth 10 times as much as in Canary Wharf.
Knowing the risks and understanding and evaluating the downsides so you can calculate whether the risk is worth taking. You need knowledge of the companies you are investing in or the deals you're doing and a willingness to take it over a long period, rather than looking for a quick win.
Last year I bought a one-bedroom flat in Knightsbridge. I do a lot of work with West Ham and when I'm filming The Apprentice, my base has to be in London. I snapped up a little flat that needed to be refurbished and spent around 25,000 installing a Kutchenhaus kitchen, even though it's only a tiny space. I'm sure it's added value to the flat.
By credit card. I have an Amex and a NatWest black card. I pay each month so I don't end up in debt and I've never missed a payment.
Very easily ? I'm particularly good at tipping taxi drivers and hairdressers, but I won't tip in a restaurant if service is included in the bill.
For years I leased my car or had a company car, but now I have just bought a second-hand Bentley Continental. It is the first car I have bought for myself in 20 years and it is four years old, so it only cost me around 60,000. I still think that is extravagant, though, and I had to give myself a talking to before I felt happy to go ahead.
No, thankfully nothing I'm doing is taking a hit. I don't tend to worry in any case ? my mantra is that if you worry too much about your next job, you are unlikely to get it, but if you focus on the job you're doing, then another one comes along. Being on The Apprentice has definitely raised my profile, but I don't exploit it by going on chat shows or doing lots of magazine interviews. I do it because I believe in the show ? I think it has credibility.
Yes, for moving my money between accounts, but I think online banking is a myth because you don't actually bank anything. I don't pay online, I just use direct debits, because it's easier. I don't worry much about deposit accounts either ? I just use savings bonds. Each year when they run out they send me a list of what's available for reinvestment, and I choose the best one.
Last year the family went to Mauritius to a five-star hotel. The weather was wonderful and the food was great. Expensive holidays can be a bit of a let-down, but this one wasn't.
I don't have one ? I'm neutral about them. I prefer to be my own pension. I know I could run a Sipp, but I think life's too short and it would be another thing to worry about.

Banking on Brown
While MPs compete to vilify Stephen Hester, the chief executive of RBS, for the 963,000 worth of shares that he has been awarded as a bonus, the money-making prowess of former prime ministers should not be overlooked.
While Tony Blair made 12million with just one of his companies last year, Gordon Brown has disclosed that he was paid 74,936 for a four-hour engagement last month, equivalent to 39million per year.
The money was paid by the ANAP Foundation / This Day in Nigeria for a speech that Brown gave in Lagos. His astonishing travel and hotel costs of 20,1666 were also paid by the organisation. He says he will not receive any of the money personally and it will go to pay for his office costs.
Brown was also paid a 22,500 advance by Simon & Schuster for a forthcoming book, 2025: Shaping a New Future. Full-time authors will be envious, as Brown?s previous tome, Beyond the Crash, reportedly sold only 2,000 copies in its first three months.
Lineker misses
While some footballers seem less than keen to play for the Great Britain team at London 2012, Gary Lineker would have ?leapt at the opportunity?.
The former England striker tells Mandrake: ?I would have loved to. Some might choose not to, but I would. It?s going to be huge. It?s the first time we?ve entered a British team.?

Puma pulse watch
You should always be aware of your pace when you?re running and to do that you need a good watch. This one is great because it keeps track of your pace for you. You can set it to a seven-minute mile, for example, and it will stop beeping if you drop below or rise above that pace. It also comes with a wireless ECG armband so you can keep checking your heart rate on your watch as you run. (55, shop.puma.co.uk)
Nike+iPod Sports Kit
If you?re running to lose weight, then this is the gadget for you. It?s a little transmitter that slips inside your shoe, which tells a receiver you?re carrying how many calories you?re burning. Your receiver can be a Nike+ SportWatch or SportBand but the best is probably an iPod touch or iPhone because they automatically send your results to a website so you can keep track of your progress. (20, store.apple.com/uk)
The Stick
This is a long stick that you roll over your legs after running. It helps to move the lactic acid that?s built up during your run, which then helps your muscles recover quicker. Use it as soon as you can after you finish your run and I guarantee you will feel so much better. (From 27, the-stick.co.uk)

Radcliffe, 22, stars in the new Hammer horror, an adaptation of The Woman In Black, which premieres tonight. He has also signed up to play Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings, which starts shooting in March.
Before filming starts, the actor is planning a three-week break - his first proper holiday in four years.
?I?ve never taken a break. I?ve worked since I was ten pretty much every day,? he told The Sun.
?Somebody said to me the other day - which I find is a ridiculous question - they asked about the money and the wealth thing and said, ?Why are you still working??
?I was like, ?I don?t know how to do anything else?. This is all I?ve done and I love it. And I don?t want to swap it for anything.
?This sounds like quite a sad thing to say but I don?t think it is: the happiest I ever am really is on a film set. I absolutely love being there. They?re wonderful places. So I just want to keep working for as long as possible.?
Radcliffe is dating Rosie Coker, a production assistant. They met on the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the actor said she was supportive of his career.
?She?s like the nice half of my brain - the part of my brain that doesn?t dislike me - that?s her. She encourages me, which is nice,? he said.
Radcliffe?s busy schedule shooting the eight Potter films means that he never found the time to take driving lessons - something he is keen to remedy.
He said: ?That?s one thing that I need to do when I get a little time off because I?m going to have to drive in a film at some point. I can?t do period films for the rest of my life and just be in horse and carts the whole time.?
