BBC presenter Michael Buerk: Rolling news channels are 'dumbing down' current affairs

Buerk left news presenting duties in 2003 but still broadcasts regularly on Radio 4. One of his twin sons, Roland, is the BBC?s Tokyo correspondent. Roland, who was in the Japanese capital when the earthquake struck earlier this year, had survived the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004 while he was the Sri Lanka correspondent.
