But rumours that he has also indulged in plastic surgery - which he has denied - seem to have hit a nerve.
"What's my crime here? I'm fitter than I've ever been, I'm very very healthy and I'm happy," he said.
"Coming up to 42 years of age, I'm no longer the 30-year-old bloke that used to sit in the change room drinking beer and (eating) pies," he said.
Warne said he had a responsibility to his three children to be fit and healthy and said he still enjoyed junk food in moderation.
During the 30-minute interview he gushed about Hurley, calling her "a lovely lady" and saying that the pair made "a pretty good partnership," despite their different backgrounds.
"People see you with Elizabeth Hurley, and see you mixing with some of her friends, and suddenly think 'Where's this Aussie guy who had a pie and a beer?' I still do that. I'm still exactly the same."
